Anti-suicide cycle for town

The 2015 route for ‘Cycle Against Suicide’ is to include Ballymena, it has been revealed.

Registration for the event has now opened on line at www.cycleagainstsuicide.com and follows an incredibly successful 2014 Cycle, which saw thousands of cyclists take to the roads in April and May.

In 2015, the Cycle route will start in Northern Ireland, with cyclists departing Belfast on April 27 and finishing in Dublin on May 10. Over a two-week period, participants completing the entire route will cover 1,400kms and will visit Ballymena on Sunday, April 27.

The main aim of the Cycle is to break the stigma associated with the open discussion of mental health and to raise awareness of the help and local support available to anyone battling depression, self-harm, at risk of suicide or those who have been bereaved by suicide.
