Antrim Roadassurances welcomed

Lagan Valley MLA Robbie Butler (UUP), has warmly welcomed the assurances from the roads service that road works on Lisburn's Antrim Road will be fully completed in time for the start of the new school year.

Mr Butler said: “This is a common sense decision by the roads service because to have the road works still in operation when the schools are coming back would create a traffic nightmare for parents, pupils, relatives and school staff alike.

“Based on these serious concerns, my office contacted the Lisburn and Castlereagh Section, which has confirmed that the road will be open by Thursday, August 25.

“I will be closely monitoring the situation to ensure these assurances are fully in place,” said Assemblyman Butler.
