Appeal after arson

Detectives are appealing for information following a report that a car had been hijacked on the Letterkenny Road area of Londonderry last night, Wednesday, December 21.

At around 8.30pm a woman was sitting in her parked car at Letterkenny Road close to Braehead Road junction when two males approached and forced her from the car. The two males then drove off in the car in the direction of Londonderry. The car, a black coloured Toyota Avensis, was found a short time later on fire at the junction of the Creevagh Road and Glassagh Road. The car was completely destroyed in the incident.

One male is described as being approximately 26 to 27 years old, of slim build, 5’7” tall, wearing a dark zip up jacket and scarf. The second male is described as being approximately 26 to 27 years old, of medium build, 5’9” tall, with short brown hair. He was wearing a dark zip up jacket and dark trousers.
