Appeal after bus attack

AN appeal for teenagers to act responsibly has been issued after a bus carrying children was ‘egged’ in Mourneview.

The incident happened on Thursday night. As the bus was passing through Mourneview it was attacked by teenagers throwing eggs and other makeshift missiles.

A spokesperson for Mourneview and Grey Estate Community Association said: “This kind of behaviour shows our community and area in a very negative way. We have spoken to some of those involved and will speak to rest in due course. I would ask all responsible parents to remind your teenagers to treat others as they would like others to treat them.

“This could have resulted in more serious consequences and we are saddened that some of our teenagers would behave in this way and think it’s funny. Next time it might not be so funny, especially if someone is seriously injured or killed. Therefore please act responsibility.”
