Appeal for help in tracing relatives in Londonderry area
A woman from in Hampshire, in the South of England, has appealed for help in tracing members of her family.
A Mrs L Young, whose home is a stone’s throw from the port of Portsmouth in the very south of England, formerly had the maiden name of McElhinney, and is keen to hear from any possible relations, or from anyone who might have known a Janet Elizabeth McElhinney. Janet was 22 years old in 1935, and lived in London from 1934 until 1938, at which time all trace of her seems to have evaporated.
“After 1938 there was not trace and I wondered if she had returned to her aunt in Northern Ireland,” said Mrs Young.
