Appeal for information after van fire

Detectives in Coleraine are appealing for information after a report of arson close to residential premises at the Windyhall Park area last night (Thursday 27th March).

Shortly before 10pm, it was reported that a van was on fire in the area. Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and the fire was extinguished. At this stage, it is believed the fire was started deliberately.

A 50-year-old man was arrested a short time later in relation to the incident. The man is currently helping police with their enquiries.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact Detectives at Coleraine Police Station on the new non-emergency number 101.
