Speaking at the recent taster session hosted by the North West Tandem Club, based in the city, Mr McBride appealed for volunteers not only to train as pilots for tandem cycling with partially sighted and blind cyclists, but also to sign up to the Sighted Guide initiative, the aim of which is to help those with impaired vision with simple tasks like shopping, visiting tourist attractions, going for a walk or simply dining out or getting around.
