Appeal for vigilance to tackle burglaries over Christmas

People have been urged to be vigilant in tackling and preventing burglaries over the Christmas period.

Deputy Mayor of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Sinn Féin’s Catherine Seeley made her comments in the wake of a number of incidents at local residential areas and local businesses in recent weeks.

The Deputy Mayor has urged everyone to look out for others, especially their elderly friends and neighbours.

“There have been a number of incidents in residential areas and at local businesses over recent times, and it is understandable that people would be concerned about the prospect of burglary.

“I would ask people to be vigilant and to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity in the run up to Christmas. We should all keep an eye out for our friends and neighbours, particularly for those elderly residents.”

She added,“I would ask anyone who does witness any suspicious activity to contact the PSNI immediately.”
