Appeal for witnesses after attempted armed robbery

Investigating officer Detective Constable Melody Kidd said: “Shortly before 11.30pm a male armed with a knife entered the store.

“He is believed to have reached across the counter and threatened a female member of staff with the knife, demanding money.

“The would-be robber made off empty-handed in the direction of the Waterside.

“Coleraine CID are investigating and we would ask witnesses or anyone with information to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.”
