Appeal to walk for Meningitis research

AN appeal has gone out for people from Ballymoney and Moyle to take part in a choice of two stunning walks in Northern Ireland to help fight meningitis.

Summer’s nearly here and Meningitis UK’s Big Strolls along the Causeway Coast and Newry Canal are the perfect chance to pull on your walking boots to help save lives by raising money for vaccine research.

Winding along the green banks of the Newry Canal as far as Poyntzpass, the 11-mile walk makes a great day out in the fresh air for all the family on Sunday June 3.

If it’s breathtaking sea views you’re craving, the 13-mile walk along the rugged cliff-top Causeway coast path will make an invigorating adventure for the more seasoned walker on Saturday June 2.

Meningitis can strike within four hours and its symptoms are notoriously difficult to detect. This is why Meningitis UK is solely focused on developing preventative vaccines to protect future generations.

Join in the fun and meet new people on four Meningitis UK Big Strolls this summer, with one in the South West of England, another in the North East and two in Northern Ireland.
