Approval for two applications from Presbyterian church

MONDAY night’s planning meeting at Craigavon Borough Council saw two planning applications approved by council submitted by Waringstown Presbyterian Church.

One of the applications is for a new church development on the Mill Hill, while the other is for a housing development on the Banbridge Road consisting of 52 dwellings.

Speaking on the issue the DUP’s Alderman Stephen Moutray MLA said: “I am delighted that both applications obtained approval at Monday nights Council meeting.

“This has been on the agenda for quite some time. It has been a difficult, laborious and complicated process, and I am delighted that this application has finally been approved.

“The church is very much at the heart of the village, and hopefully it will provide an opportunity for more facilities to be provided, which historically has not been the case. I believe that this will afford great benefit to the congregation and the wider community when completed.

“I have been involved in this process from its inception several years ago and I am pleased that this stage in the process has been successfully achieved.”
