£100,000 investment boost

DUP MLA Carla Lockhart has been working on with SureStart for over a year and is delighted that the investment has come to fruition.

The Sure Start programme is already running in the Craigavon area and is aimed at ensuring every child up to the age of four years gets the best start in life.

This is an extension to the scheme within the Mourneview electoral area.

Carla said, “This is a very welcome programme for Mourneview. I am delighted to have been able to assist in helping secure this funding and that it will be aimed at the 2 year old programme that will help formative years of children and is provided free. The benefits to the children are many and not only build confidence but where the parents wish they can mingle with others of their own age and build on their social interaction skills.”

“The programme has many events over the summer all covered by this funding and I will be encouraging as many parents as possible to bring their young children along. I am keen that as many new families as possible come along and will be advertising the events in my office and on social media.”
