£150,000 road scheme in Antrim

Transport Minister Michelle McIlveen has announced that a £150,000 road improvement programme to the A6 route in Antrim is now complete.

The Northern Ireland Executive funded works, include the provision of a new bus lane that links directly from Dublin Road into Antrim town centre along with the upgrading of the traffic signals at Castle Way junction.

Michelle McIlveen said: “The improvements are delivering a range of benefits for local residents and visitors to Antrim.

“In addition to the new bus lane, which has already led to a reduction in journey times along this busy section of the A6, the upgrading of the traffic signals at Castle Way junction will improve facilities for pedestrian and provide more efficient signal sequencing for drivers.”

A new footway link into the town centre from Dublin Road has also been provided.
