£765 fine for Dungannon man arrested for driving offences with cannabis in his pocket

A Dungannon man caught with a quantity of cannabis when questioned by police over possible driving offences has been fined a total of £765 and banned from driving.

Jacek Kadlov was pulled over at a police checkpoint on the Gort Link Road on March 13 this year.

Dungannon Magistrates heard that when questioned by police, the Lisnahull Gardens resident admitted he had neither a driving licence or insurance.

After being arrested by police for those offences, the court heard it was then discovered that the 20-year-old had cannabis in his trousers pocket.

The vehicle and drugs were both seized.

Kadlov, who was said in court to earn around £260 per week, was ordered to pay a fine of £400 for driving without a licence, £250 for having no insurance, £100 for possession of drugs and must pay an offenders levy of £15.

He was also disqualified from driving for six months.
