Arch opening parade to take place

THOUSANDS of Orangemen and women will parade through Lisburn city centre for the annual opening of the arch on Monday night, July 2.

The parade traditionally marks the countdown by local Lodges to July 12, the biggest day of Northern Ireland’s summer marching season, and officers of District LOL Number Six are hoping for a good turnout.

Assemble

Brethren and bands taking part in the annual parade are to assemble at 7.15pm at Lisburn Orange Hall and will move off at 7.30pm.

The event will include members of Lisburn District LOL No.6 and guests from South Antrim combine.

The parade will make its way through the city centre via Railway Street, Castle Street, Seymour Street, Queens Road, Union Bridge, Gregg Street, Mercer Street, Sloan Street, Union Bridge, Bridge Street, Market Square, Market Street. It will also travel along Smithfield Square, Hillsborough Road, Warren Park, Warren Gardens, Longstone Street, Chapel Hill, Bow Street, Railway Street, before returning to the Orange Hall in Wallace Avenue, following the parade.
