Ardboe man fined for acting as ‘illegal’ taxi

An Ardboe man has been fined a total of £650 after being seen acting as an ‘illegal’ taxi by the DVA.

Department of the Environment reported that James Curran from Mullanahoe Road was seen with six passengers at a Cookstown nightclub by an enforcement officer.

Follow up checks showed he did not have the required Taxi Drivers Licence and he was fined on November 9 at Dungannon Magistrates Court for the taxi offences, which he denied.
