Are you up for the UCF Celtic Mountain Challenge?

The challenge is to climb four of the highest peaks in Ireland – Slieve Donard in Co Down, Errigal in Co Donegal, Croagh Patrick in Co Mayo and Lugnaquilla in Co Wicklow over the weekend of June 8-10.

Sarah Atcheson, Fundraising Co-ordinator, UCF said: “The Celtic Mountain Challenge is an excellent opportunity for people to set themselves a unique personal challenge. This is a gruelling event but it is hugely rewarding as it is a great way to get fit and give something back to your community by raising money to support local cancer patients and their families .

“During the event participants will tackle the four highest peaks in Ireland in quick succession however there will be stops along the way to refuel on snacks, drinks and sleep between mountains climbs. Participants are also encouraged to train on hilly terrain and prepare for all weather conditions.”

Registration is now open for the Celtic Mountain Challenge. To secure your place each participant is asked to pay a non-refundable booking fee of £50 and raise a minimum of £595 in sponsorship. Transport throughout the trip, hostel accommodation in Wicklow and a special celebratory meal are all provided.
