To mark the day, Arianne dressed up as her favourite story book character, Alice in Wonderland.

Speaking about the book, she said, “Alice in Wonderland is my favourite book. I love everything about it, especially all the funny, exciting creatures!”

This year marks the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll’s classic, “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and it has truly captured Arianne’s imagination.

The book that Arianne is reading belonged to her mum, Tracey Bell, when she was a child. Tracey is the author of “Love Never Ends”, a book to help comfort children suffering bereavement.

Tracey said, “World Book Day is a great opportunity to spark children’s imaginations.

“When they enjoy a book they discover a whole new world of adventure.

“Sharing stories also does wonders for children’s self-esteem and wellbeing and helps develop literacy skills and a lifelong love of reading.”

She added, “World Book Day could even inspire our next generation of homegrown authors. As the Door Knob in ‘Alice in Wonderland’ says, ‘Nothing’s impossible’”.
