Armagh woman wins car in cardiac draw

And the fundraiser will mean around £10,000 in the coffers of the hard-working association, after the winning ticket was drawn by ABC Council Deputy Mayor Catherine Seeley. The car was one of 36 prizes up for grabs in the draw, and the vehicle was partially sponsored by Edwin May of Bridge Street.

Much of the money will be spent in the current project by the CCCA to provide defibrillators and free training in their use for sports clubs, churches and other organisations. Honorary secretary Rodney Wiggins has revealed that 23 defibrillators - at well over £1,000 each - were provided during 2015, with another 12 in the near future.

The remainder of the 35 draw prizes were totally sponsored, and the CCCA wishes to thank the thousands in the area who donated, the sponsors, as well as the ticket sellers who spent their time and talents to ensure the superb total.

The second prize of a 42-inch television goes to another Armagh resident, a Mr A. Gray (sponsor anonymous), while the third prize of £200, sponsored by Lurgan Credit Union, was won by Helen Crooks of Portadown.

Next on the agenda for the CCCA is a fundraising County and Western Concert at Portadown Town Hall on February 10, with stars Curtis Magee, Crawford Bell, Bonnie Stewart and Shaun Loughrey.
