Armed man steals suncream from supermarket

A man threatened staff outside a Ballymena shop with a knife - after he had made off with a quantity of stolen suncream!

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident at a supermarket in the Larne Road Link area of Ballymena on Friday afternoon, May 8.

At around 2pm a man entered the store and stole a quantity of sun cream. The man threatened a member of staff with a knife when he was confronted in the car park of the store.

The member of staff was not injured in the incident. The man is described as being approximately 5’ 11” tall, of heavy build, with brown hair, balding on top.

He was wearing thick rimmed glasses, combat trousers and a maroon coat.
