Armed men burst into house in Larne

Detective Sergeant Peter Crothers said “At approximately 1.45am today, Monday 3rd October, a residential premises was entered and a man in his 20’s was assaulted. The male was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

“Three masked males dressed in black and wearing balaclavas and gloves forced entry to the premises. They were armed with a baseball bat and metal bars and attacked the male. They made off on foot in the Inver Road area.

“We are appealing for anyone with information who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or have information about the incident to contact detectives at Larne on 101 quoting reference number 67 of 03/10/16.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
