Armed robbery

Detectives in Londonderry investigating an armed robbery at a Post Office on the Culmore Road yesterday, July 9, are appealing for information.

A silver coloured VW Passat car with a Taxi sign on the roof, believed to have been used in the robbery and was found abandoned on the Coney Road area a short time after the robbery.

It is believed sometime between 10.30am and 11am two males involved in the robbery abandoned the stolen taxi car and made their way across the border on foot into Muff in Donegal, beside the Kilderry Lane area.

The two males are described as approximately 5’8” tall and stocky build. One was wearing a black coat with a hood and the other wearing a dark coat over a grey hooded top.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the Coney Road area or Muff and may have seen the men either on foot or get into another vehicle.
