Armed robbery at Laurel Hill shop

Detectives in Coleraine are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a shop in the Laurel Hill Road area on the evening of Sunday 8 February.

At approximately 6.20pm it was reported that a man, believed to be aged in his mid 20s and armed with a knife, made off from the shop with a sum of money and a quantity of cigarettes.

No-one was injured in the incident but two female staff members were left badly shaken.

Detective Constable Derek Hemphill said: “I would appeal to anyone who knows anything about this incident to contact CID at Coleraine Police Station on the non-emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
