Armed robbery at Lodge Hotel

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a hotel in the Lodge Road area of Coleraine on Tuesday.

It was reported that shortly after 11.35am, two members of staff were making their way to a car in the car park of the hotel when an unknown male carrying a suspected firearm exited a car and threatened them before making off with a bag containing a sum of cash.

The male is described as being approximately 5’11” tall, of medium build and was wearing a black bomber style jacket and a balaclava. He made off in a silver coloured Citroen C4 car that was being driven by a second male who was also masked.

Chief Inspector Mark McClarence is appealing for anyone who witnessed the robbery or anyone who may have seen a silver coloured Citroen C4 car before or after the time of the robbery to contact CID in Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101.
