Armed robbery at Victoria Street

DETECTIVES are appealing for information after they received a report of an armed robbery at business premises in the Victoria Street area of the town on Monday, January 23.

At around 5:10pm, it was reported that a man entered a shop in the area dressed in a blue boiler suit, balaclava and was believed to have been armed with a knife. The armed intruder demanded money from a male member of staff during the incident, but was refused. Enquiries are continuing.
