Armoy – gae’s a hand!

Conleth Burns of Armoy is calling for willing workers to ‘gae’s a hand’ on Saturday morning next to plant a lot of rose bushes! Conleth received £750 from an application he made to Disney Friends for Change to replant the flowerbeds along the Gracehill Road in Armoy.

Lorraine Mc Cook of Greenlight Gateway advised him on what plants to get and where to get them- Greenlight Gateway in Ballycastle!

There was a bit of uprooting to be done; loads of weeds to remove but it’s all systems go for planting twelve flowerbeds on Saturday morning – kicking off around 10 o’clock.

So it would be great if you would lend a hand; if you know a bit about gardening or if you just want to come along for the craic –everyone welcome. Sometimes it’s easier to come along if you bring someone with you – and that would also boost the numbers!

We are planting carpet roses. Eddie Mc Lean, who knows a thing or two says they may be nice to look at but they would ‘jag the hands of ye’- ‘awfully’ sharp or words to that effect! Eddie there’s no rose without a thorn – and what we plant now will look great in the brilliant summer forecast for next year!

Hope to see loads of people on site next Saturday morning.
