Councillors were told surveys are currently being carried out at Leyland Road in Ballycastle and three areas of Glenariffe - Carneil Park, Main Street and Warren Park.

The results of the surveys will be brought before Council upon completion.

A Council report said: ‘After consultation with Technical Services Department we have been advised that the budget allocated for the erection of bilingual street nameplates for this financial year has now been spent so any further applications will have to be deferred to the next financial year.’

The report also said confirmation has now been received for the Irish translation for Gaults Road, Cushendall, which is Bothar an Ghallda.
