Arrested for stealing perfume

On Tuesday (August 9), following a report by Lisburn Citywatch CCTV operators of a male acting suspiciously, officers from Lisburn & Castlereagh District Support Team stopped the man for questioning.

A search of the males clothing recovered a quantity of stolen aftershave and perfume hidden in the lining of his coat. Police enquires discovered the items had been stolen from a local business. The male was arrested, interviewed and charged to appear at court. Police also conducted a follow up search.

Inspector Robinson said: “This is an excellent example of the very valued support provided by Lisburn CCTV operators by reporting suspicious activity to police.

“We will continue with proactive patrols in Lisburn City centre to keep people safe and to protect our local business from crime.”
