Arrests after police pursuit and Hawkin Street collision

Four people were arrested following a police pursuit in the Racecourse Road area during the early hours of this morning (8th).

The car had previously failed to stop for police earlier in the night. A report was then received of a hit and run RTC on Hawkin Street just after 1am - no injuries were reported.

A 23 year old man was arrested for a number of offences including dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, failing to stop at the scene of an RTC, obstruction and resisting arrest.

A 30 year old man was arrested at the scene in connection with drug offences. Both remain in custody.

Two women in their 20s were arrested at the scene and released on bail. The vehicle has been recovered.
