Arrests made at vehicle checkpoints

Police made four arrests at roadside checkpoints for a number of offences in Ballymena last night.

Detailing the arrests, a PSNI spokesperson said: “E - section officers where out last night carrying out random breath tests at various check points in the Ballymena area. Approximately 30 vehicles were stopped and drivers checked using new recent laws. This resulted in one arrest for driving with excess alcohol, Indirectly one arrest for possession of Class A and B and two arrests on bench warrants were also detected and made.”
