Arson attack at paper bank sparks anger among locals

A paper bank has been set on fire in Stranocum sparking fears that minor acts of vandalism are returning.

Recently, the village experienced damage to property causing locals to react with anger.

Now, it seems to have returned with the bank set alight on Monday night and still smouldering one day later.

One local said: “We know who did this and it needs to stop. We don’t want this sort of thing happening in our village because the majority of people reject it.”

The bank, situated at the River Bush on the perimeter of the village, is widely used along with the clothing and bottle banks that sit alongisde.

The property is maintained by the council and has, for the most part, been left untouched.
