Arson is third attack on Polish family at Glenarm

AN arson attack at a Polish family’s home in Glenarm this morning was the third time they have been targeted.

A tyre filled with flammable liquid was set alight outside the door of the property at Mark Street at about 1am.

A 40-year-old man, his wife, 37, their 15-year-old daughter and nine-year-old son were in the house, as well as another 47-year-old man. No one was injured.

There was smoke damage to the house.

The police have appealed for information.

Larne’s Alliance Mayor Gerardine Mulvenna called the arsonists “mindless thugs” and East Antrim Sinn Fein MLA Oliver McMullan blamed outsiders with a “twisted vendetta”.
