Art attack at the Strand

LOCAL school children have been hard a work designing art work for Portstewart Strand.

A new display and signage was unveiled last week at the new Visitor Centre and changing facilities.

The winning designs came from Orla Tracy and Roisin McMorrough, pupils at St Colum’s Primary School.

Portstewart Strand is home to hundreds of local children who spend their summers enjoying the sunshine, sand and sea.

Along with two miles of beach to enjoy the kids can learn more about the ecosystems in the sand dunes at the Visitor Centre or from the knowledgeable staff on site seven days a week.

Back in September 2009, children from Portstewart Primary School and St Colum's Primary School took part in making designs that would be made into mosaics that would be displayed in the toilets at the beach.
