Art Club set for new season

MEMBERS of Larne Art Club are looking forward to resuming their activities after the summer break, and are looking for new recruits to join their ranks.

The club will be held at Larne Museum and Art Centre from 7.30pm on the first Tuesday of each month from September to November, and from February to May. Outings usually take place in December and June.

Events taking place in the upcoming season include the AGM on September 4, techniques in oils by Drew Magnus on October 2, and watercolours by Paul Holmes on November 6.

Workshops for members will be taken by artist Louis Humphrey in September. Classes commence for members on Mondays and Wednesdays in September at 2pm.

The annual Art Exhibition will be held in the Tourist Information Centre from Monday, November 5 until Friday, November 16 (preview on Friday, November 2).

Meanwhile, a display of art on a floral theme was set up at Larne Borough Council’s Flower Show on Saturday, held in First Larne Presbyterian Church Hall. The Larne Borough Flower Show Art Cup was won by Freda Kemp. Debra McDowell and Patti Barklie were highly commended.
