Art exhibition aids charities

CARNLOUGH Art Society will be holding its 43rd annual exhibition of paintings by amateur and professional artists in St John's Primary School from Saturday, July 24 to Friday 30.

The exhibition will be open from 3-8pm daily, except Sunday (when it is closed) and Friday (when the exhibition closes at 4.30pm to allow for the collection of paintings from 5-7pm).

Admission is free.

Every year, Carnlough Art Society supports three local charities and this year the beneficiaries will be the Northern Ireland Hospice, the Northern Ireland Children To Lapland Trust and Action MS Northern Ireland.

The prizes for the annual children’s art competition will be presented by a representative of the NI Hospice at 4pm on the opening day.

St John's PS and Carnlough Integrated PS pupils drew and painted pictures on the subject of School Sports Day before the end of term.

Catalogues cost 1, with all the profits going to the hospice.
