Art exhibition at St Saviour

THE Church of Ireland Parish of Magheralin will be holding its sixth annual art exhibition this weekend.

Having just left the season of harvest, with creation at its heart, this event can be viewed as a further celebration in the same vein. The Christian Church and associations with art and handicraft perhaps takes us back to earlier times.

Magheralin Parish, while maintaining a strong focus on the future, also recognises the importance of maintaining and building upon tradition and these values are well reflected in this year’s venue which will be the St Saviour’s Church complex in Dollingstown.

The art exhibition and sale is a fund raiser for the parish and the Fields of Life charity, the latter having been founded in Magheralin Parish by former Curate, now Canon, Trevor Stephenson.

Although Canon Gareth Harron and the parish congregation are keen make everyone welcome simply to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere surrounding the event. As well as being able to browse the paintings on display, there will also be the chance to relax over tea or coffee and light refreshment. The comfortable lounge area at St Saviour’s will afford an ideal opportunity to renew old acquaintances or to even make new friends through a common interest in the arts.

St Saviour’s Church is right in the centre of the village, just opposite Roadside Motors.

The event is open from 11am to 9pm on Friday, November 23 and from 10am to 5pm on November 24.
