Art sale fundraiser for Kiwoko

AN unsigned art sale organised by Millie Moore was the last in a series of fundraising events to raise much-needed money for resources and support for Kiwoko Hospital, Uganda.

The sale of small art pieces donated by fellow artists from all over Ireland came from both well-known and emerging artists but the lack of signature meant the viewer made the purchase based on what they really liked.

All works sold for the same price but some lucky people found they then owned a piece by a famous artist worth much more than they paid.

A Toy and Treat Sale by Millie’s daughter Pauline started the fundraising at the beginning of June followed the next week by a Coffee and Crafts morning by Martin Montgomery and Millie.

All this effort was not just to raise money but also to raise awareness of the work of the Church Missionary Society, Ireland. Under CMSI leadership Martin and Millie from Holy Trinity Church, Banbridge will travel as part of a 16-strong team to Uganda this August to work with young people.
