Artists workshop

ARTISTS can learn how to make their own artist quality acrylic paint at a ‘Make your own Medium’ workshop on Saturday.

Held at Craigavon Borough Council’s Artspace venue, the workshop is running from 12noon to 1.30pm and then again from 2.30pm to 4pm with artist in residence Emma Berkery.

Emma holds a Master of Fine Art from the University of Ulster and her work is rooted in painting using both oils and acrylics. She has exhibited extensively throughout Ireland and the UK, most recently her ‘Accepting the Journey’ exhibition at the Island Arts Centre in Lisburn.

The workshop will give you the opportunity to learn to make your own artist quality paint using Aqueous Dispersions. This is an economical method of producing paint of the highest standard for your artwork and will be of particular interest to those painters working with colour. After the demonstration there will be a practical opportunity to experiment with the paints.
