Artscare make a splash at the Brook

ARTSCARE has been working with staff at the Brook Residential Home and the Pavestone Centre in Coleraine to create beautiful new artwork.

The Pavestone painters working with artist in residence, Kathryn Nelson, and Occupational Therapist, Diane Hand, were commissioned by the Friends of the Brook to create a new piece of art to decorate and enhance the unit’s corridors.

The marine inspired mural and paintings was unveiled at the end of August.

Lorna Stynes, the Chair of the Causeway Artscare Group, Mary Cargan, Locality Manager for Older People Services and Mental Health, Northern Trust and Sandra Ramsey, Activities Co-ordinator at The Brook all contributed to and spoke at the event.

Kathryn Nelson, Artist in residence said, “The Pavestone painters enjoyed creating and working on the pieces. We hope that they will bring joy and pleasure to all the residents, visitors and staff at the Brook for years to come.”
