ASDA responds to Ballymena rumours

ASDA has responded to rumours that they are to open a new store in Ballymena.

The Ballymena and Antrim Times contacted the supermarket chain this week after rumours began circulating around the town, that they were set to take over the B&Q store in the Braidwater retail park.

An ASDA spokesperson said: “I can confirm that this isn’t something we are considering.”

ASDA has stores in Coleraine and Antrim but it seems that for the immediate future there are no plans to open a store in the Ballymena area.
