The ASDAN Course involved provides volunteers with an opportunity to gain a professionally recognised ASDAN qualification, in CVQ (Community Volunteering Qualification), levels 2 and 3 which provides 92 UCAS points to successful candidates. RDA Coleraine has been running this scheme since 2006.

The ASDAN Volunteer undertakes a minimum of 30 hours over the course of the year with RDA Coleraine. Activities include leading or side walking ponies, tacking and untacking, and general stable duties after appropriate training. There is some (rather minimal) written coursework attached to this programme.

RDA Coleraine relies solely on volunteers who kindly donate their time to help. If you are interested in volunteering at the RDA, or registering with the programme for 2010 -2011, you can contact Rosie Clyde, (Youth Leader) at RDA Coleraine (Tel: 028703 20147; Email: [email protected])
