He was also sentenced to eight months, also to run concurrently, for criminal damage to a door.

The court heard that on October 22 last year police were called to Bell’s Row Court in Lurgan over an ongoing domestic incident.

Police noticed the back door was damaged and when they went into the house found two men wrestling on the floor. The injured party claimed the defendant had punched him to the face and head.

Sadkowski was in breach of a non molestation order and in breach of bail conditions by being under the influence of alcohol.

A barrister representing the defendant said there had been too much alcohol taken and he went to the home of his ex-partner who was living with a new partner who normally would be a friend of the defendant.

He added that due to the drink both men were goading each other and Sadkowski accepted he reacted wrongly by going into the house. The victim assumed the defendant was going to strike him and they got involved in a struggle. The lawyer said that his client had now spent four months in custody which was the equivalent of an eight month sentence.

He explained that on February 3 this year Sadkowski had been sentenced to a total of eight months in prison for other offences. He was going to be in custody for another two months.
