Attempt to abduct nine-year-old girl in Lisburn

DETECTIVES from Lisburn CID are appealing for information following an attempted abduction of a nine year old girl in the Governors road area on the afternoon of Tuesday 5 January.

Around 3:30pm the girl was making her way home from school through the Lisburn Leisureplex grounds when she was approached by an older man in a dark blue car.

The man told her he was to pick her up for her mother and when the girl walked away he tried to grab her by the arm. The girl managed to get away and although unhurt she was badly shaken by her ordeal.

The man is described as around 40 years old, of heavy build with very short and slightly spiked blonde hair. The man was wearing a blue Rangers top, plain navy jacket, black track bottoms and big black boots.

The vehicle is believed to be dark blue and there was a light coloured Labrador dog in the vehicle.
