Attempt to hijack car
POLICE in Portadown are investigating an incident in the Sugar Island Road area which happened on Sunday.
Shortly before 7:30am up to eight youths were noted in the area and at least one of them attempted to take a vehicle. The driver managed to put his foot down and drove off.
A 23-year-old man was arrested a short time later on suspicion of attempted hijacking following the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact detectives at Lurgan on 0845 600 8000. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
