Attempted murder charges withdrawn after Huntly incident

Attempted murder charges against two men following an incident in Banbridge, have been withdrawn.

Instead the two have been returned for trial to Newry Crown Court charged with maliciously wounding a man.

Michael Joseph Martin Graham (39), River Street, Newry, and Stephen Thomas Dickson (24), Eastfield Drive, Milton Keynes, appeared last Thursday at a preliminary enquiry at Banbridge Magistrates Court sitting in Newry.

They are both charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding a man with intent to do him grievous bodily harm on June 4 last year.

Dickson is also charged with assaulting a constable on the same date.

They were both remanded on bail of £200 to appear at Newry Crown Court on January 10 next year.

Holding charges, which included charges of attempted murder by both defendants at Huntly Road, Banbridge, were withdrawn.
