Audrey gears up for new anti-crime role

BALLYMENA Retailers Against Crime (BRAC) have elected Audrey Wales, MBE, as their new chair.

Elected at the agm on March 2, she will take over the post from Martin North, Operations Manager of the Fairhill Shopping Centre.

Handing over to his successor with best wishes for her year ahead, Martin said: “It has been a busy year for BRAC as the organisation takes on additional roles in the town centre under the Ballymena Town Centre Development co.

“These roles have seen BRAC becoming further engaged with issues that impact on the town centre including the highly successful grafitti removal project, working closely with the Community Safety Partnership”.

Audrey has already served as chairperson with BRAC and has been a member of the committee since 1998.

She congratulated Martin on a very successful year in office and said she was honoured to be elected.

She added: “The Radio-Link Scheme in Ballymena is the bench mark scheme for Northern Ireland with almost 140 members and I look forward toworking with the BRAC Manager, Trevor Parker, in the coming year”.
