Autism NI meets with First Minister

A delegation from Autism NI recently had a meeting with First Minister Arlene Foster to flag up its concerns over the implementation of the Autism Act in Northern Ireland.

“We outlined our concerns to the First Minister that despite huge efforts having been made by the health department to implement the autism bill, service delivery for people and families with autism has got worse,” said Lisburn Councillor Jonathan Craig, who attended the meeting.

“The key point raised was the need for an autism co-ordinator to see the efficient and effective roll-out of the Autism Act across several departments, including Health, Education and Justice.”
