STEP are delighted to congratulate QMAC Construction on their recent award at the Construction Excellence Awards for their work on The Junction.

The landmark building was the winner in the Social/Community Construction Award at the prestigious Construction Employer Federation Awards in the Culloden Hotel, Belfast.

The Junction has been open to the public since April 2016 and to date has had over 13,000 users attending events and activities or using the services of the building’s three anchor tenants STEP, NIAMH and Willowbank.

The state-of -the art facility provides a welcome environment for groups and organisations to hold their training, meetings and events with a number of different sized spaces available.

Bernadette McAliskey, STE, said: “We are in no doubt that our new building is indeed award winning and we thank QMAC for giving us this great testimony to the strong community sector in Mid-Ulster. It is now for us to ensure that the building is accessible and utilised by the community who are essentially its ‘owners’.

“We have received high praise from visitors to The Junction since opening and news has spread across Northern Ireland and beyond that there is a new, centrally located venue that can cater to the needs of different types and sizes of events.

“Congratulations to QMAC on this award and for their restoration award for the work on St Patrick’s Church, Donaghmore.”
