Awards for Allgrants windfall

Crafts With Love is one of five groups working with people in the Coleraine area awarded a total of £37,287 from Awards for All. This is part of a grants roll-out of £909,970 to 107 groups across Northern Ireland.

Crafts With Love, which encourages members to take part in traditional and modern crafting, received £6,784. The grant will be used for a series of trips and outings for members and to support the growth of the group.

Hezlett Primary School also received £8,354.

The school will use the grant for the Ready, Steady Go project, which will improve the sports and play facilities of the school.

The new facilities will be used by children, staff, parents and carers and the wider community.

The University of Ulster, Coleraine, was awarded £5,024.

The grant will be used to fund From Downton to Zombies: the Guilty Pleasures, a two day cultural event based in the university’s Coleraine campus and open to community groups and local people.

Holy Trinity Church in Portrush will use a grant of £10,000 to install double glazed windows and doors in their church hall which is used by the local community for events and activities.

Coleraine’s Phoenix ADHD Project was awarded £7,125 to fund an external evaluation which will include input from people who benefit from the service.

Awards for All offers community, voluntary and statutory groups the chance to apply for small grants of between £500 and £10,000 that will have a big impact on local communities and the lives of people most in need.
