Emmett Byrne, Ardowen, Craigavon, was fined £100, with a £15 offender’s levy, for disorderly behaviour on October 4.

The court heard police were called to a children’s home in Sloan Street, Lurgan, because of the defendant’s behaviour.

Byrne, whose speech was slurred, said he had nowhere to go and was taken to the police station to see where he could stay.

He started to become abusive saying ‘f—k off’ and ‘f—king b—ds’ to police.

When warned about his behaviour he said: “This is f—king Ireland, I’ll say what a want. F—k you.”

A solicitor for Byrne said he was highly intoxicated.

She added that he was now residing with his mother and trying to get his life back on track

District Judge, Mr Alan White, said it was sad that Byrne, having just been released from prison, found himself in this situation.
